The sign of modern life is active integration processes, which assume that the economy of any country today can not develop independently of the world community, which requires from the society the formation of highly-qualified international economists. In response to requests from the Ukrainian business environment, in 1988, the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Kharkov National Economic University named after Semen Kuznets was created. It is still the leading faculty in Ukraine for the training of specialists in the field of international and tourism activities (about 30 years).

Our competitive advantages:

• Cooperation with foreign universities and the possibility of obtaining double diplomas (Joint Franco-Ukrainian Master’s program MBA ,”Tourism”);

• Compulsory study of two foreign languages: English, German, French, Spanish;

• In-depth computer training (study of disciplines on computer information technologies every semester);

•Active cooperation with leading world companies and institutions in which the graduates of the faculty are practicing and recruiting, namely:  SUN InBev Ukraine, Philip Morris Ukraine, Nestle Ukraine, PrivatBank, GreenPower, Zeon 2020, Globalbilgi, IRBIS, Art Lemon and others;

• Students have the opportunity to study completely in English in the fields of “International Economics” and “Tourism”;

• The high level of training of specialists at the faculty is facilitated by by the teaching staff training  in the leading institutions of higher education of Ukraine and other countries of the world. Most teachers have a Business English Certificate (B2).

Professional competence of a graduate from the specialty “International Economics”

• the ability to make rational management decisions on the development and international competitive advantages;

• ability to analyze the influence of factors of the internal and external environment of the organization on the process of development of its international economic activity

• the ability to provide effective management of the international competitiveness of the enterprise

• to create an analytical system for assessing the effectiveness of the international economic activity of the enterprise and the degree of its adaptation to changes in the environment.

 

 Professional competence of a graduate from the specialty “International management”

  •  the ability to make rational management decisions on the development and international competitive advantages;
  •  to ensure the effective functioning of transnational corporations;
  •  ability to develop and substantiate the choice of effective managerial decisions and strategies for business development in the global competitive environment;
  •  to develop and use effective marketing and logistic support of international business operations taking into account the peculiarities of functioning of foreign markets and international law;
  • to create an analytical system for assessing the effectiveness of the foreign economic activity of the enterprise and the degree of its adaptation to changes in the environment;
  • to evaluate the investment and innovation programs of the enterprise development;
  • take effective management decisions regarding the exit of enterprises into the international market in conditions of the changing environment;

  • knowledge and understanding of the theoretical foundations of international trade activity;
  • the ability to select and use appropriate methods and tools for substantiating decisions on the creation and functioning of foreign trade structures.
  • the ability to conduct market research and to prepare market surveys and forecasts for the development of world markets for goods and services
  • knowledge and understanding of the basis of pricing in international trade and the peculiarities of the formation of price strategies in world markets
  • the ability to segment the international commodity markets and identify the features of market niches for specific goods and services
  • knowledge and understanding of the regulatory legal framework for international trade activities.
  • knowledge and understanding of the peculiarities of organization and management of international trade activities of enterprises

Professional competence of a graduate from the specialty “Tourism”

  • understanding of the intercultural aspect of the tourism enterprise activity, its social responsibility;
  • knowledge of methods and technologies of marketing research in the sphere of circulation of production of non-material manufacturing industries;
  • understanding of the organizational and economic mechanism for increasing the competitiveness of the national economy sectors, in particular those related to the services sector;
  • awareness of the theoretical foundations and models of the functioning of the supra-spatial macro-regions, causal relationships between phenomena and events induced by the processes of globalization and regionalization;
  • the ability to analyze the competitiveness of a national tourist product;
  • to develop, substantiate and implement strategies of foreign economic activity of tourist enterprises;
  • the ability to develop regional tourism industry support programs, to form an information and communication network between representatives of various levels of government, public organizations and entrepreneurs;
  • the ability to build balanced schemes of export-import operations and interregional transfers with the participation of tourism and related industries;
  • monitor market trends and take measures to anticipate possible crises;
  • implement effective investment policies at different levels of management;
  • use of the acquired basic ideas about modern information technologies in the process of setting the task of organizing the activity of the tourist enterprise before the specialists of technological branches;

International programs run by faculty departments:

Joint Franco-Ukrainian Master’s Program MBA “Tourism” (Department of Tourism).

The program includes:

  • To prepare francophone specialists with a variety of professional knowledge in raising the value of cultural heritage, developing tourism projects, commercializing innovative tourism products at the regional, national and international levels;
  • To provide students with the opportunity to gain professional experience in two countries (Ukraine and France) and obtain diplomas from two universities (Semen Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and Lumière Lyon University 2);
  • Provide students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and skills necessary to integrate into the world labor market.
