On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, which is associated with the date of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly (in 1948). 13.12.2021, at 4 pm, a round table “Human Rights: Present and Prospects for Development” was held at the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics.
The co-organizers of the event are the EU Information Center of S. Kuznets KhNUE, Department of International Relations, KhNUE S. Kuznets, International Laboratory of Business and Human Rights, The Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed the equality of all the inhabitants of the planet before the law. Man, his life and dignity, rights and freedoms are recognized as the highest value of every state. It is proclaimed that all people are equal in their dignity and rights. At the same time, human rights and freedoms are inalienable and inviolable. They belong to every person from birth and throughout life, do not depend on the will of the state, are not given and cannot be abolished. The lecture discussed socially important concepts such as human rights principles, restrictions, state responsibilities, human rights protection mechanisms, current issues, trends and prospects, and the Covid pandemic.
