• IBM Academic Initiative

    Kharkiv National University of Economics joined the IBM Academic Initiative program in 2006 from submission of the Department of information systems.
    IBM Company collaborates with leading researchers, talented teachers and students who contribute to IBM research and application development.
    IBM Academic Initiative Program offers high school teachers free access to IBM resources, which can be used in the classroom and while conducting the non-profit research in computer science.
    In particular, the list of options includes the following IBM resources:
    • IBM software and open source technologies;
    • IBM educational materials, tutorials and techniques;
    • Educational software and virtual 3D-simulators;
    • Collection of scientific and technical literature, archive of IBM periodicals;
    • Web-seminars and remote access to educational resources of IBM Innovation Center;
    • Newsletters, scripts of interviews and IBM experts’ weblogs;
    • Community forums of IBM consumers.
    On  November 10th, 2011, the delegation from IBM Corporation led by Amanda Garland, Vice President of IBM (Global Strategy, IBM Growth Markets), visited KhNU of Economics to discuss the prospects of the investment project.
        
    The teachers of the Department of Information Systems have been trained and certified in applying the following IBM products:
    • Cognos BI Report Studio DB2
    • Rational: Software Architect
      • Team Concert
      • Requirements Composer
      • ClearCase
    • SPSS Statistics-ILT
    Since 2009 students of the Department of Information Systems have got an opportunity to get certificates of using IBM software.
